Absolutely! We recommend doing so.

In my personal and anecdotal experience, this approach makes the process more engaging, interesting, and thoughtful. Even if the role requires quick thinking, you can still incorporate an unseen element into the interview. However, if you want to truly explore a candidate’s experience, it’s far more effective to let them know in advance what you’re aiming to discuss, rather than catching them off-guard.

Additionally, we’re told that neurodiverse candidates benefit greatly from this small change. It helps create a more level playing field and significantly increases their chances of performing well.

Lastly, sharing questions in advance enhances the overall candidate experience. It reduces some of the stress that inevitably comes with searching for a new job.

All in all, it seems like a logical step to take. If anyone has reservations, particularly around the influence of AI, reassure them that there’s no need to worry. It will be immediately obvious if someone is simply repeating answers from Alexa, or the like!
